Statement of Reasons

The Scottish Ministers aim to promote the safe and efficient use of the roads for which they are responsible.

The Scottish Ministers are satisfied that the extension of the existing 30mph speed limit; the installation of a 40mph ‘buffer zones’ and the reduction of the speed limit from National Speed Limit to 50mph between Gilmerton and Crieff for the purpose of reducing the speed of motor vehicles throughout the village of Gilmerton and between Gilmerton and Crieff where there are footways with frequent pedestrian movements will promote road user safety.
