The A9 Trunk Road (Glassingall, Dunblane) (Temporary Prohibition of Specified Turns) Order 2017

The Scottish Ministers give notice that they have made the above Order under sections 2(1) and (2), 4(1) and 14(1)(b) and (4) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, temporarily prohibiting traffic on that length of the M9/A9 Edinburgh – Stirling – Thurso Trunk Road from a point 700 metres or thereby south west of the point where it meets the extended southern kerbline of the access to ‘Shandale’, in a south westerly direction for a distance of 300 metres or thereby from making the following turns:

  1. All left turns from the southbound carriageway of the A9 to the private access serving South Glassingall Farm.
  2. All right turns from the northbound carriageway of the A9 to the private access serving South Glassingall Farm.
  3. All left turns from the private access serving South Glassingall Farm to the southbound carriageway of the A9.
  4. All right turns from the private access serving South Glassingall Farm to the northbound carriageway of the A9.

The Order, which is required to prohibit unsafe vehicle manoeuvers to and from the trunk road will be in force from 30 June 2017 until 31 January 2018 but the prohibition contained in the Order will only be operational in relation to such part or parts of the length of road as is indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. The Order does not apply to authorised vehicles or vehicles being used in an emergency for fire brigade, ambulance, police or coastguard purposes.

Alternative Routes

Transport Scotland would take this opportunity to clarify that there is no alternative route for the traffic affected by the prohibition in this Order.
