The A9 Trunk Road (McDiarmid Park) (Temporary 30mph Speed Restriction) (No. 3) Order 2017

The Scottish Ministers give notice that they have made the above Order under sections 2(1), 4(1) and 14(1)(b) and (4) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, which will have the effect of imposing a 30mph speed restriction on;

  1. That length of the M9/A9 Edinburgh – Stirling – Thurso Trunk Road being the southbound off slip from the point where it diverges from the main carriageway to the point where it meets the circulatory carriageway of the Newhouse Roundabout (A85), a distance of 515 metres or thereby.
  2. That length of the M9/A9 Edinburgh – Stirling – Thurso Trunk Road being the southbound on slip from the point where it diverges from the circulatory carriageway of the Newhouse Roundabout (A85) to the point where it meets the main carriageway of the A9 southbound, a distance of 525 metres or thereby.

The Order is required to allow traffic to safely exit the car park exit gate located at the top of the A9 slip road during the St Johnstone Football Club, McDiarmid Park, Perth football fixture. It is anticipated that the restrictions will be in place from 12:01am until 11:59pm on 21 May 2017 but will only have effect in relation to such lengths of road as are indicated by the appropriate traffic signs.

The Order does not apply to vehicles while being used in an emergency for fire service, coastguard, ambulance or police purposes.

Alternative Routes

An alternative route for traffic during the speed restriction is not required.
