The A9 Trunk Road (McDiarmid Park) (Temporary 30mph Speed Restriction) (No. 4) Order 2017

The Scottish Ministers give notice that they have made the above Order under sections 2(1), 4(1) and 14(1)(b) and (4) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, which will have the effect of imposing a 30mph speed restriction on;

  1. That length of the M9/A9 Edinburgh – Stirling – Thurso Trunk Road being the southbound off slip from the point where it diverges from the main carriageway to the point where it meets the circulatory carriageway of the Newhouse Roundabout (A85), a distance of 515 metres or thereby.
  2. That length of the M9/A9 Edinburgh – Stirling – Thurso Trunk Road being the southbound on slip from the point where it diverges from the circulatory carriageway of the Newhouse Roundabout (A85) to the point where it meets the main carriageway of the A9 southbound, a distance of 525 metres or thereby.

The Order, which is required to allow traffic to safely exit the  St Johnstone Football Club car park located near the South end of the A9 slip road, will be in force from 9 September to 5 November 2017 although the speed limit contained in the order will only be operational when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.  It is intended that the speed limit will be operational on the following match days: 9 September. 13 October and 4 November.

The Order does not apply to vehicles falling within regulation 3(4) of the Road Traffic Exemptions (Special Forces) (Variation and Amendment) Regulations 2011 when used in accordance with regulation 3(5) of those Regulations: or vehicles being used in an emergency for coastguard purposes.

Alternative Routes

An alternative route for traffic during the speed restriction is not required.
