The A90 Trunk Road (Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route) (Blackdog to Goval) (Temporary 40 mph & 50 mph Speed Restrictions) Order 2018

The Scottish Ministers hereby give notice that they have made the above Order, under sections 2(1) and (2), 4(1) and 14(1)(b) and (4) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, which will have the effect of imposing temporary speed restrictions of 40mph and 50mph on the following lengths of road:-

A 40mph restriction on:

1. That length of the A90 Trunk Road being the northbound merge slip road from its intersection with the Blackdog junction roundabout, in a generally north, northeasterly direction for a distance of 236 metres or thereby to a point 7 metres or thereby south, southwest from the start of the merge of the slip road with the northbound carriageway.
2. That length of the A90 Trunk Road being the southbound diverge slip road from a point 34 metres or thereby south of the end of the diverge of the slip road, in a generally southerly direction for a distance of 268 metres or thereby to its intersection with the Blackdog junction roundabout.
3. That length of the A90 Trunk Road being the entire circulatory carriageway of the Blackdog junction roundabout, a distance of 488 metres or thereby.
4. That length of the AWPR from its intersection with the Blackdog junction roundabout, in a generally west, south-westerly direction for a distance of 32 metres or thereby to a point 32 metres or thereby west, southwest of the Blackdog junction roundabout.
5. That length of the AWPR being the northbound merge slip road from its intersection with the Goval junction west roundabout, in a generally easterly direction for a distance of 304 metres or thereby to the start of the merge of the slip road with the northbound carriageway.
6. That length of the AWPR being the southbound diverge slip road from a point 382 metres or thereby west, southwest from the end of the diverge of the slip road, in a generally southwesterly direction for a distance of 44 metres or thereby to its junction with the Goval junction east roundabout.

A 50mph restriction on:

1. That length of the AWPR being the southbound carriageway from a point 78 metres or thereby west of the centreline of the Lochgreens Access Road Overbridge, in a generally westerly direction for a distance of 1372 metres or thereby to the end of the diverge of the slip road to the Goval junction east roundabout.
2. That length of the AWPR being the southbound diverge slip road from the end of the diverge of the slip road, in a generally west, southwesterly direction for a distance of 382 metres or thereby to a point 44 metres or thereby northeast of the Goval junction east roundabout.

The Order will be in place from 4th June 2018 to 30th November 2018 and is required because of the likelihood of danger to the public, or of serious damage to the road, which is not attributable to works.

Alternative Routes

An alternative route for traffic during the restriction is not required.
