The A90 Trunk Road (Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route) (Temporary Prohibitions and Restrictions) (No. 2) Order 2018

The Scottish Ministers hereby give notice that they have made the above Order, under sections 2(1) and (2), 4(1) and 14(1)(b) and (4) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, temporarily prohibiting traffic and use of central reservation or verge; and temporarily restricting direction of driving, stopping, reversing and use of emergency laybys; and temporarily affecting animals carried in vehicles.

The Order will be in place from 21 December 2018 to 30 June 2019 and is required because of the likelihood of danger to the public, or of serious damage to the road, which is not attributable to works. The prohibitions on vehicles do not apply to vehicles being used in an emergency for fire and rescue, coastguard, ambulance or police purposes. The prohibition on pedestrians imposed also does not apply to a person while carrying out any duty in relation to the maintenance or improvement of the trunk road, while carrying out any duty in connection with the removal of any obstruction to traffic, while engaged in connection with fire brigade, ambulance, police or coastguard purposes; or leaving a vehicle which is prevented from proceeding by circumstances beyond their control. The speed restrictions do not apply to vehicles being used in the service of the Special Forces or to vehicles being used in an emergency for coastguard purposes.

Alternative routes

Alternative routes for the traffic during the prohibition will be signposted.
