The A90 Trunk Road (Stirling to Invernettie Roundabout) (Temporary 40mph Speed Restriction) Order 2024

The Scottish Ministers give notice that they have made the above Order under
sections 2(1), 4(1), 14(1)(a) and (4) and 15(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, which will have the effect of temporarily restricting speed to 40mph on that length of the M90/A90/A9000 Edinburgh – Fraserburgh Trunk Road from a point 230 metres or thereby north of its junction with Station Road (B9108) at the end of the existing 40mph speed restriction through Stirling Village northwards to a point 330 metres or thereby south of Invernettie Roundabout, a distance 1.45 kilometres or thereby.

The Order, which is required to facilitate the ongoing construction of Peterhead Sub-Station and to enable construction traffic to access and egress the site safely will be in operation from 6th February 2024 for longer than eighteen months, but will only have effect in relation to such part or parts of the lengths of road as are indicated by the appropriate traffic signs.

The Order does not apply to vehicles falling within regulation 3(4) of the Road Traffic Exemptions (Special Forces) (Variation and Amendment) Regulations 2011 when used in accordance with regulation 3(5) of those Regulations, or vehicles being used in an emergency for coastguard purposes.
