The A96 Trunk Road (Nairn) (Temporary Prohibition on Use of Road and Temporary 20mph Speed Restriction) Order 2019

The Scottish Ministers hereby give notice that they have made the above Order, under sections 2(1) and (2), 4(1) and 14(1)(b) and (4) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, which will have the effect of temporarily prohibiting the use of parts of that length of the A96 Nairn – Inverness Trunk Road from a point 330 metres south-west of the extended centre line of its junction with the C1181 Waverley Road westwards to a point 380 metres east of the extended centre line of its junction with the C1170 Moss-Side Road, a distance of 90 metres or thereby.

The Order will also have the effect of imposing a temporary speed restriction of 20mph on that length of the A96 Nairn – Inverness Trunk Road from a point 280 metres south-west of the extended centre line of its junction with the C1181 Waverley Road westwards to a point 330 metres east of the extended centre line of its junction with the C1170 Moss-Side Road, a distance of 190 metres or thereby.

The Order will be in place from 25 June 2019 to 27 June 2019 and is required to ensure that a roadside interview survey may be undertaken safely. A risk to staff working within the site has been identified while traffic is travelling at the normal road speed.

Alternative Routes

An alternative route for traffic during the restriction is not required.
