The A977/A876 Trunk Road (Kincardine) (20mph, 30mph & 40mph Speed Limits) Order 202[ ] - Draft Stage

The Scottish Ministers hereby give notice that they propose to make the above Order under sections 84(1)(a) and 124(1)(d) of, and paragraph 27 of schedule 9 to, the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984 which will have the effect of imposing a 20mph, 30mph and 40mph speed limits on the following lengths of road:-

20mph Speed Limit

1. That length of the A977 Kincardine Trunk Road from a point 38 metres or thereby east of the extended centreline of Forth View in a generally north-westwardly direction to a point 375 metres or thereby north of the extended centreline of High Street, a total distance of 891 metres or thereby.
2. That length of the A876 Kincardine Trunk Road from a point 204 metres or thereby northeast of the extended centreline of Walker street in a generally south-westerly direction to its junction with the A985 Eastern Link road, a total distance of 406 metres or thereby.

30mph Speed Limit

3. That length of the A977 Kincardine Trunk Road from a point 38 metres or thereby east of the extended centreline of Forth View in a generally easterly direction to a point 230 metres or thereby east of the extended centreline of Forth View, a total distance of 191 metres or thereby.

40mph Speed Limit

4. That length of the A977 Kincardine Trunk Road from a point 230 metres or thereby east of the extended centreline of Forth View in a generally south-easterly direction to its junction with the A977 Gartarry-Kincardine Trunk Road, a total distance of 460 metres or thereby.

Full details of the proposal are contained in the Order which, together with plans showing the length of road involved, a statement of the Scottish Ministers’ reasons for proposing to make the Order and the order that is to be revoked in part may be examined free of charge during normal business hours from 23rd April 2026 until 24th May 2026 at offices of Transport Scotland, Fifth Floor, 177 Bothwell Street, Glasgow G2 7ER, The Co-Op, Silver St, Kincardine, Alloa FK10 4NS & Kincardine Library, 2 Keith Street, Alloa FK10 4ND.

Statement of Reasons

The Scottish Ministers aim to promote the safe and efficient use of the roads for which they are responsible.

The Scottish Ministers are satisfied that the introduction of a 20mph, 30mph and 40mph Speed Limit for the purpose of reducing the speed of motor vehicles will be in the interests of road safety.
