The B979 Trunk Road (Stonehaven) (Temporary Prohibition on Use of Road) Order 2025

The Scottish Ministers give notice that they have made the above Order under sections 2(1) and (2), 4(1) and 14(1)(a) and (4) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, which will have the effect of temporarily prohibiting vehicles on:

  1. That length of the B979 Netherley Road northbound carriageway from a point 10 metres or thereby north of the centre line of the junction with the Stonehaven Junction southbound merge slip road in a northerly direction to the entry point onto Stonehaven Roundabout, a distance of 210 metres or thereby.
  2. That length of the B979 Netherley Road southbound carriageway from a point 25 metres or thereby south of the centre line of the junction with the Stonehaven Junction northbound merge slip road in a northerly direction to the entry point onto Stonehaven Roundabout, a distance of 220 metres or thereby.

The Order, which is required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road, will be in operation from 6th May until 10th May 2025. The works will only be carried out between 20:00hrs and 06:00hrs and will only have effect in relation to such part or parts of the length of road as is indicated by the appropriate traffic signs.

The A90 Netherley Road footway adjacent to the northbound carriageway will remain open at all times.

The Order does not apply to vehicles while being used in an emergency for fire brigade, ambulance, police or coastguard purposes or a vehicle being used for facilitating the holding of the relevant event.

UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (Incorporation) (Scotland) Act 2024 Compatibility Consideration and Narration of Statement of Compatibility

The Scottish Ministers have made the following statement regarding children’s rights.
“In accordance with section 23(2) of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (Incorporation) (Scotland) Act 2024 (the Act), the Scottish Ministers certify that, in their view the B979 Trunk Road (Stonehaven) (Temporary Prohibition on Use of Road) Order is compatible with the UNCRC requirements as defined by section 1(2) of the Act.”
