The M90/A90/A9000 Trunk Road (Kirkliston to Ferrytoll) (Temporary Prohibition on Use of Road) Order 2023

The Scottish Ministers give notice that they have made the above Order under sections 2(1) and (2), 4(1) and 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, temporarily prohibiting traffic on the following lengths of road:

  1. That length of the M90/A90/A9000 Edinburgh – Fraserburgh Trunk Road being the northbound carriageway of the M90 from the point it diverges from the M9 northbound carriageway at M9 Junction 1A (Kirkliston) to the point where it meets the northbound off slip of the M90 at Junction 1B (Ferrytoll), a distance of 11 kilometres or thereby.
  1. That length of the M90/A90/A9000 Edinburgh – Fraserburgh Trunk Road being the northbound off slip of the M90 at Junction 1B (Ferrytoll) to its junction with the circulatory carriageway of the B981 Ferrytoll Roundabout, a distance of 458 metres of thereby.
  1. That length of the M90/A90/A9000 Edinburgh – Fraserburgh Trunk Road being the northbound carriageway on slip of the M90 from the point it diverges from the M9 at Junction 1A (Kirkliston) to the point where it merges with the M90 northbound carriageway, a distance of 908 metres or thereby.
  1. That length of the M90/A90/A9000 Edinburgh – Fraserburgh Trunk Road being the northbound off slip of the M90 at Junction 1A (Queensferry Junction) to its junction with the circulatory carriageway of the A904 Queensferry Roundabout, a distance of 375 metres or thereby.
  1. That length of the M90/A90/A9000 Edinburgh – Fraserburgh Trunk Road being the northbound on slip of the M90 at Junction 1A (Queensferry Junction) from its junction with the circulatory carriageway of the A904 Queensferry Roundabout to the point where it merges with the M90 northbound carriageway, a distance of 427 metres or thereby.
  1. That length of the M90/A90/A9000 Edinburgh – Fraserburgh Trunk Road being the northbound carriageway of the A9000 from its junction with the circulatory carriageway of the A904 Echline Roundabout to its junction with the circulatory carriageway of the B981 Ferrytoll Roundabout, a distance of 4.2 kilometres or thereby.

The Order, which is required in to facilitate the UCI Championships event will be in operation from 6th August until 7th August 2023 and will only have effect in relation to such part or parts of the length of road as is indicated by the appropriate traffic signs.

The Order does not apply to vehicles while being used in an emergency for fire brigade, ambulance, police or coastguard purposes or a vehicle being used for facilitating the holding of the relevant event.
