The A9 / A96 Connections Study is looking at the problems, opportunities and issues concerning traffic travelling between Inshes, Raigmore and Longman junctions in Inverness in an effort to develop a potential solution to the congestion and journey time reliability issues that exist at these key junctions.

The A92/A96 Haudagain Improvement project includes approximately 500m of new dual carriageway connecting the A92 North Anderson Drive and the A96 Auchmill Road to assist in reducing traffic congestion and improving journey time reliability.

The scheme will improve the road alignment of the A95 trunk road between Gaich and Craggan, whilst also facilitating the incorporation of a proposed railway extension by Strathspey Railway Charitable Trust (SRCT) between Strathspey and Grantown-on-Spey.

The project is located on the A95 trunk road east of Drumuillie. The scheme consists of the widening, horizontal and vertical realignment of 2km of single carriageway bringing it up to current design standards.
