A series of works will be undertaken on the A985 Kincardine Bridge in several phases over the forthcoming years in order to maintain the structure. Phase 1 involved the re-waterproofing of the two Central Swing spans.

The A9 / A96 Connections Study is looking at the problems, opportunities and issues concerning traffic travelling between Inshes, Raigmore and Longman junctions in Inverness in an effort to develop a potential solution to the congestion and journey time reliability issues that exist at these key junctions.

This scheme consisted of the provision of new slip roads on the west side of the A9 for Northbound travellers. The scheme officially opened on 26 May 2008.

Junction improvements to and from the village of Bankfoot have been undertaken to remove right turn manoeuvres.

Conon Bridge Station reopened on 8 February 2013. The £600,000 project was delivered in partnership by Network Rail, First ScotRail, Highland Council, HITRANS and Transport Scotland.

The £11m redevelopment of Dalmarnock Station began in September 2011. The station was reopened on 6 December 2013 by Nicola Sturgeon MSP, Deputy First Minister and Cabinet Secretary for Infrastructure Investment & Cities.
