Filming on the Scottish Trunk Road Network

Timescales for filming using a drone

Applications to film on the Scottish Trunk Road Network requiring the use of a drone should be submitted 8 weeks in advance of filming with an agreed [Risk Assessment] from Transport Scotland, following the guidance of GG 954.

Timescales for filming without a drone

All other applications to film on the Scottish Trunk Road Network including those requiring road closure or traffic management must be submitted 6 weeks in advance of filming.

Permission to film on the trunk road network is at the discretion of Transport Scotland. Permission may be granted as requested or subject to such conditions as Transport Scotland consider appropriate.
