IAM RoadSmart

IAM RoadSmart is the UK’s largest road safety charity. It has a vision of a society where all road users can safely and sustainably use the public highways together. It does this through a range of means including the advanced driving and riding tests. IAM RoadSmart was formed in March 1956 and has around 75,000 members.  It actively supports road safety in Scotland as a member of the Transport Scotland Operational Partnership group, delivers courses such as Rider Refinement and delivers educational campaigns year-round, predominately through digital channels.

BEAR Scotland Limited

BEAR Scotland is an alliance of three highly successful organisations who are prominent in the United Kingdom roads sector – Vinci, Jacobs and Breedon – joining together to provide trunk road network management and maintenance solutions to Transport Scotland.

Collectively these organisations span the world, allowing BEAR to call on the global strength and expertise of shareholders where required. Since 2000, BEAR has been involved in five generations of Transport Scotland Trunk Road Operating Company contracts covering various areas of Scotland and is presently responsible for approximately 60% of Scotland’s trunk road network. This includes the South East and North West Scottish Trunk Road Units, which includes the A9 north of Perth.

BEAR has also diversified outwith the Trunk Road Operating Company Contracts and is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the M80 Stepps to Haggs and the 18km A92 Dundee to Arbroath Dual Carriageway. On a smaller scale, BEAR also offers bespoke services to local authorities and new works contractors within the roads sector.

Our current portfolio includes the management and maintenance of the North East and South West Trunk Road units on behalf of Transport Scotland and the Traffic Scotland Infrastructure Contract which includes the A9 between Dunblane and Perth.

The North Safety Camera Unit

It has principal responsibility for managing safety camera enforcement on the A9. More information including locations of all safety camera enforcement locations in Scotland can be found on the Scottish Safety Cameras website.

A member-led trade association supporting people and businesses in the road transport industry.

Road Safety Scotland

Road Safety Scotland is responsible for road safety learning resources for 3-18 year-olds and for behavioural change campaigns which address the main causation factors in injury collisions.

Stagecoach

One of the largest bus operators in the UK, operating since 1980 and running express and local bus services across the country, playing an important role in helping people access work, education, health, shopping and leisure.

The Confederation of Passenger Transport UK (CPT)

The CPT help a dynamic bus and coach industry to provide better journeys for all. We do this by representing around 800 members, giving them practical advice and support, and bringing the industry together to build better solutions.

Prosper Scotland

Prosper (SCDI) is a unique membership organisation, with a proud history of bringing people together from government, business and civil society to effect change.

With over 500 members from across Scottish society – businesses large and small, local authorities, colleges and universities and the social economy - their shared ambition is to support economic growth and prosperity for all of Scotland.

Prosper is a nationwide organisation with a regional presence and for nearly 60 years, The Highlands and Islands Committee and their members have supported the development of critical infrastructure which unlocks economic opportunities.

Cairngorms National Park Authority

The Cairngorms is the largest national park in the UK and is visited by around 2 million visitors each year. Two thirds of these come to the Badenoch & Strathspey area on the western side of the Park and typically arrive via the A9. The Cairngorms National Park Authority helps manage the Park and provides advice and assistance to visitors through activities such as the Countryside Ranger service and the provision of online and printed information.
