An Island Communities Impact Assessment is a duty under the Islands (Scotland ) Act. It aims to “island proof” legislation, policy, strategies and services. Island Communities Impact Assessments ensure that the obligation “[A] relevant authority must have regard to island communities in carrying out its functions” is met.
