Scottish Trunk Road Network Road Asset Management Plan 2026

The Scottish Trunk Road Network Road Asset Management Plan 2026 (RAMP) is produced by the Roads Delivery and Operations Directorate.  This is the third edition of the RAMP. Together with our Asset Management Policy and Strategy, the RAMP sets out our approach to managing trunk road assets to deliver the objectives of Transport Scotland and the Scottish Government.

The RAMP explains how our organisation and supply chain deliver a safe, resilient, sustainable, and accessible transport system that supports economic growth and improves the quality of life for all who live, work, and travel in Scotland. This edition continues our progressive approach to improving our asset management capabilities. It provides transparency in how we make decisions to address our evolving challenges, including climate change and changing demand.

This document is used by Transport Scotland staff and supply chain teams to provide visibility of trunk road management and maintenance activities, and to drive continual improvement. It may also be of interest to those who wish to learn more about the service we deliver and how we intend to do so.
