This report is the second phase of research delivered by Heriot-Watt University’s Centre for Sustainable Road Freight.

Transport Scotland, in collaboration with COSLA, co-developed a route map to achieve a 20% reduction in car kilometres by 2030, which was published in January 2022.

This Post Adoption Statement reports how environmental considerations from the Strategic Approach and Vessels and Ports Plan elements of the Islands Connectivity Plan have been integrated into the project, and how consultation feedback has been taken into account.
