Strategic Environmental Assessment  Cover Note with Post Adoptation Statement

Description: As required under the Environmental Assessment (Scotland) Act 2005, this Post Adoption Statement details the environmental considerations taken into account in the Scottish Government’s decision (December 2007) to build a new bridge to the west of the existing Forth Road Bridge. Relevant environmental mitigation comments from this Post Adoption Statement will, along with a detailed Environmental Impact Assessment of the project, inform an Environmental Statement. The Environmental Statement will support the Parliamentary Bill to be promoted by the Scottish Government in late 2009, which will seek authority to construct the new bridge and connecting roads.
