Bus Decarbonisation Study

The Bus Services Act gained Royal Assent on 27 October 2025 and provides new powers for Scottish Ministers to prohibit the registration of new non-zero-emission buses on local services in Scotland from a date no earlier than 2030. A bus decarbonisation study was conducted to obtain initial views from bus operators and local authorities on the implementation of the new powers.
