“There’s an app for that!” - Women’s Safety on Public Transport in Scotland
This report arises from three-month internship building upon recommendations from our 2023 Women’s safety report. The focus was the recommendation to raise awareness of existing technology to enhance the safety of women and girls on public transport. The report had three main aims, to map the typologies of available apps, to identify themes and gaps in the academic literature and to consider policy and governance implications arising.
